You know the feeling. The conversation you keep rehearsing but never having. The application sitting in drafts. The decision you have made a hundred times in your head and zero times out loud. It is not that you do not know what to do. It is that doing it takes nerve, and nerve has been in short supply.
Maia was made for that moment. Light it when you are done waiting to feel ready, before the hard phone call, the big ask, or the first step you have been circling for months. Ready is not a feeling. It is a decision.
The scent is warm, earthy and quietly bold, built around Sandalwood and Clove. It opens with zesty Orange Peel and refreshing Fir Needle, like the sharp intake of breath before you begin. At its heart, warm and spicy notes of Clove, Cinnamon and Fresh Hay mingle with a delicate hint of Jasmine, comfort with a backbone. It settles into a rich, woody base of Sandalwood and Cedar Wood, softened by Malt and Vanilla, steady and sure, the scent of someone who has decided.
Maia takes her name from the eldest of the Pleiades in Greek mythology, mother of Hermes, messenger of the gods. She raised him alone in her mountain cave, needing no permission and no applause. Hers is not loud courage. It is the quiet kind that simply gets on with it. There is no better name for a candle about backing yourself.
Set in the wax are genuine Tiger’s Eye chips. Tiger’s Eye is known as the stone of courage, long associated with confidence, protection and the resolve to follow through. It is the crystal people carry into rooms that scare them. As the candle burns, the chips are gradually revealed in the wax, a small reward for every hour you spend with it.
Every Maia candle arrives with a double-sided ritual card in the box. One side tells you what Tiger’s Eye means. The other tells you exactly what to do, from your first burn to your last. No guesswork, no thinking required. You just light the candle and begin.

Caring for Your Candle
To get the most out of your Jade + June candle, follow these simple tips each time you burn it.
- Trim the wick to 5-6mm before each burn for the best burn time.
- For the first burn, allow at least 3 hours or until the wax melts to the edges of the jar.
- Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- When finished, extinguish with a snuffer and replace the lid to keep the wax dust-free.
Safety Instructions
- Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from anything flammable.
- Place on a sturdy, heat-resistant surface, out of reach of children and pets.
- Burn in a well-ventilated area, away from drafts, and stop once 1cm of wax remains.
- Store below 25°C, away from direct sunlight.
Room Spray, Diffuser & Melt Care
- Room spray: shake well, then spray 2-3 pumps into the centre of the room. Avoid fabrics, furniture and direct contact with skin.
- Reed diffusers: last 3-6 months and can be flipped regularly to refresh the scent. Keep away from open flames.
- Wax melts: place 1-2 squares in a warmer, enjoy for a few hours, then let the wax cool before removing. Never pour melted wax down the drain.

- Standard Post: 3-5 business days (6-8 for NT and WA).
- Express Post: 1-3 business days when ordered by 2pm AEST on a business day.
Returns
We do not offer exchanges or refunds for a change of mind, so please choose carefully. If your item arrives faulty or damaged, contact us within 48 hours at hello@jadeandjune.com.au with your order number, a description, and photos, and we’ll arrange a replacement or refund.
Missing Parcels
If your order shows as delivered but hasn’t arrived, check with household members and neighbours, look around your property, and contact your local post office. Still no luck? Email us within 7 days of the delivery date and we’ll open an investigation with Australia Post.
What are your candles made from?
Our candles are made using 100% natural soy wax and non-toxic fragrance, and are infused with ethically sourced crystals.
Can I leave the crystals in my candle when I light it?
Yes! The crystals are small enough to leave in while burning. Once about 1cm of wax remains, you can carefully remove them with a heatproof utensil, then rinse off any excess wax in a strainer under hot water.
Are your products vegan-friendly?
Yes, we’re pleased to offer vegan-friendly products across our entire range.
What should I do with my empty jar when finished?
Your empty jar can be reused as a storage container, or it can be recycled.
