My Candles are made using 100% natural soy wax and non-toxic fragrance and are infused with ethically sourced crystals.
The name comes from the two people who started it. Bree Jade and Bambi June, a daughter and her mother, began Jade + June in Melbourne in 2021 during lockdown. Bree stepped back in 2024 to focus on her family, and I have hand-poured every candle since.
Yes! I am pleased to offer vegan-friendly products across our entire range. (My ‘Flora’ candle does not contain real honey).
Sustainability is important to me. I aim to use packaging that is either partly or wholly made from recycled materials, to reduce the impact my products have on the environment. All of my packaging can be recycled.
I aim to create candles that give off a noticeable throw, but some fragrances are naturally stronger than others.
Yes! The crystals in my candles are small enough that you can leave them in your candle when burning without compromising the burn.
The crystal chips in a Jade + June candle are set into the wax and are not near the flame during normal burning. When about 1cm of wax remains, stop burning the candle and lift the chips out with a heatproof spoon or tweezers. That is the same point at which any soy candle should be retired.
When there is about 1cm of wax remaining, carefully use a heatproof utensil (like a spoon or tweezers) to extract the crystals.
To remove any excess wax, place your crystals in a strainer and run under hot water. Then allow them to dry naturally.
Remember to always exercise caution when handling hot wax.
Use a heatproof utensil like a spoon to gently push the unmelted wax from the sides of the jar into the wax pool in the centre of your candle. This will help the candle burn more evenly and prevent it from tunnelling down the centre.
Your empty candle jars can be re-used and make great storage containers for things like cotton pads or makeup brushes. Just use boiling water and detergent to wash out any remaining wax.
Alternatively, your jar can be recycled.
Approximately 40 hours. Each candle is a 285g pour of 100 per cent natural soy wax with a single wick. Soy burns cooler and slower than paraffin, so the burn time is longer than an equivalent paraffin candle. Trimming the wick to 5 to 6mm before each burn gives you the most hours from it.
In Melbourne, Australia. I hand pour every candle in small batches in my studio rather than manufacturing in volume, and I set the crystal chips into the wax by hand. Every candle cures for a minimum of one week, and usually two, before it is sold.
There are seven signature fragrances, and the easiest way to find yours is the candle quiz on the site. Five questions, under a minute, and it matches you to a fragrance and its crystal. If you would rather just start somewhere, Yara, Lemongrass and Lime with Smoky Quartz, is the most popular in the range.
