Polished Rainbow Moonstone, slab cut

A flat slab of Rainbow Moonstone, polished on both faces, wide enough to fill your palm. Tilt it toward a window and the flash runs blue across the surface, then vanishes, then returns somewhere else as you move. Turn it toward a lamp and it does it again at a completely different angle.

At this size the stone stops being a small ornament on a shelf and becomes the thing visitors ask about. It works flat on a coffee table, propped against books, or standing beside a candle where the light keeps moving.

Rainbow Moonstone belongs to the same feldspar family as the Moonstone chips set into my Maeve candle. Traditionally it is known as the stone of balance, intuition and new cycles.
